North America Trading Manager-Convergence Trading Unit

Job Description

The Convergence Trading Unit (CTU) is seeking to fill a North American Trading Manager position as a key member of the global CTU team.
 
The CTU is a newly created trading unit in the Energy Transportation & Industrial (ETI) Platform with a mandate to do the following;
- Analyze and trade inter-relationships across the ETI range of products and between the ETI and commodities traded elsewhere in Cargill.
- Build a world-class Base Metals trading business.  
- Act as a Custodian, Link and Marketer of the ETI's IP knowledge & insights to the external financial community.
- Become the Connectivity Champion and Collaboration Engine in ETI and between ETI and other Cargill businesses.  
Principal Accountabilities
 
The candidate will be responsible for extending and broadening the links with the ETI North American Business Units/businesses and building CTU's North American trading activities. Further he or she will be expected to provide strong leadership in the implementation of the global CTU strategy, day-to-day trading and execution.\n\nRequired 
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of commodity and/or relevant financial experience. Must have proven track record.  
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills both within and across different businesses and geographies.
- Broad/conceptual thinker.
- Risk analysis/management experience.
- Strong communication/persuasion skills.
- Ability to make connections/spot linkages.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Innovative and independent thinking is a must. The incumbent will be expected to assertively solve problems and seek opportunities.
- Ability to structure and align support functions necessary to manage risk and reporting.
- Fluent written/spoken English, additional languages a plus.
 Desired
- Experience across several commodities in the ETI space.
- Background/experience in global vs narrow/regional markets.
- Previous experience in building new businesses/projects.
