Cargill Meat Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Meat Technician (Lab Technician II) in Wichita, KS. This position will be responsible for supporting the Research and Development teams by conducting research projects in the facility and participating in facility tasks and Pilot Plant operations. This position would have a primary designation to one team, but collaboration with other R&D teams is required.Typical duties include setting up/tearing down equipment, logging in raw materials, maintaining HACCP logs, processing meat products, shipping samples and maintaining plant and facility cleanliness/orderliness. In addition, non-routine tasks are included such as product preparation in the kitchen, submission of lab samples, and conducting shelf life testing.
Principle Accountabilities:
- 50% - Perform processing operational duties for respective team
- 30% - Assist other technicians in their duties
- 10% - Conduct facility tasks, including maintaining/stocking one area of facility
- 10% - Conduct other duties as required
\n\nRequired:
- High school graduate or equivalency
- Minimum 4 years meat processing experience or B.S. in Food Science, Meat Science or related field
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills, strong team orientation (ability to both participate in and lead teams)
- Occasional Travel
Preferred:
- Bachelor's of Science Degree
- Previous Research & Development experience
